Ingredients

Scale

Puff Pastry Sheet:

  • 1 sheet

Filling:

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/4 cup artichokes, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cracked pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes to taste

Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees: Thaw 1 sheet of puff pastry.
  2. Mix the filling: Combine all the filling ingredients except the egg in a bowl.
  3. Cut and layer puff pastry: Cut the puff pastry sheet in half. Spread the spinach artichoke mixture on one pastry sheet. Place the other half on top to sandwich the filling.
  4. Cut and twist: Slice the pastry into 6 even strips. Twist each strip into a swirl shape, ensuring the ends are tucked under to hold the shape.
  5. Apply egg wash: Brush each swirl with the egg wash mixture.
  6. Bake: Arrange the swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the swirls to cool slightly before serving.
