Olive Lovers’ Dream Dip is a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy dip featuring a blend of green olives, feta, and cream cheese with bright notes from lemon and roasted red peppers. Perfect as an appetizer or snack, this versatile dip pairs wonderfully with pita chips, crostini, or fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Base

  • 200 g Green Olives (opt for Castelvetrano or Manzanilla for the best quality)
  • 150 g Feta Cheese (block feta in brine for better texture)
  • 100 g Cream Cheese (room temperature for easy blending)
  • 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (enhances creaminess)
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1 lemon Lemon Zest (adds brightness)
  • ½ lemon Lemon Juice (providing acidity)

Flavorings and Garnishes

  • 1 Roasted Red Pepper (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • ½ tsp Chili Flakes (optional; adjust to taste)
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
  • 2 Green Olives (for garnish)
  • Drizzle of Olive Oil (adds richness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the base: In a food processor, combine the green olives, feta cheese, cream cheese, extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Blend these ingredients until smooth but still slightly textured, about 30 seconds, to create a creamy and flavorful base.
  2. Add flavorings: Add the chopped roasted red pepper, dried oregano, chili flakes, and freshly ground black pepper to the mixture. Pulse the food processor 2–3 times just to incorporate these ingredients while keeping some texture and chunks for an appealing consistency.
  3. Transfer and garnish: Spoon the prepared Olive Lovers’ Dream Dip into a serving bowl or jar. Drizzle with a little olive oil and place two whole green olives on top as a garnish to enhance presentation and flavor.
  4. Chill: Refrigerate the dip for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the dip to chill thoroughly before serving.
  5. Serve: Present the dip with pita chips, crostini, or seasonal raw vegetables for dipping and enjoying as an appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • Using block feta in brine improves the texture and creaminess of the dip compared to crumbled feta.
  • Adjust chili flakes to your preferred heat level.
  • Letting the dip refrigerate enhances the flavor melding and texture.
  • This dip can be prepared a day ahead and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a smoother consistency, blend longer but avoid over-processing to keep some chunks for texture.
