For the Mint Chocolate Mixture:
- 1 Cup Andes Mints (roughly chopped)
- 1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 Tablespoon salted butter
For the Puppy Chow:
- 7 Cups Rice Chex cereal
- 2 Cups powdered sugar
- mint-flavored cookies (chopped)
- Andes mint candies (or mint-flavored baking chunks)
- green M&Ms
- Add: Place the chopped Andes Mints, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and salted butter in a large, microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave: Heat on high in the microwave for 30 seconds and then stir well. If any unmelted chocolate remains, continue heating in 10 to 15 second increments and stirring well until smooth and melted. Do not overheat.
- Fold: Add the Chex cereal and gently fold it until coated with chocolate.
- Sprinkle: Sprinkle half of the powdered sugar and shake the bowl before adding the other half of the powdered sugar.
- Shake: Seal the bowl and shake to combine the cereal and sugar until uniformly coated. Break up any clumps if needed and shake again.
- Spread: Spread the muddy buddies on aluminum foil or parchment paper to set.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl and fold in any optional mix-ins before serving.
