For the Lavender Sugar

  • 3 tbsp (12 g) Earl Grey tea
  • 1/2 tbsp culinary lavender
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated white sugar

For the Earl Grey Cookies

  • 2 3/4 cups (344 g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 g) granulated white sugar
  • 1 egg, at room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste

For the Lavender Cream Cheese Frosting

  • 4 oz (113 g) cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup (56 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (130 g) powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp culinary lavender
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • Purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. For the Lavender Sugar – Add the lavender to a food processor, pulse until finely ground, then mix with sugar. Set aside.
  2. For the Earl Grey Cookies – Preheat oven, prepare Earl Grey tea, mix dry ingredients, cream sugar and butter, add egg and vanilla, combine dry ingredients, shape dough into balls, coat with lavender sugar, bake, and cool.
  3. For the Lavender Cream Cheese Frosting – Combine butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, lavender, and vanilla. Add food coloring if desired. Frost cookies once cooled.
