Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground turkey (85% lean, 15% fat)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped Italian parsley
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 tablespoons very finely diced red onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • Olive oil for pan
  • 4 burger buns
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Crumbled feta cheese
  • Tomato slices
  • Cucumber slices
  • Onion slices
  • Lettuce

Instructions

  1. Make the tzatziki sauce: Follow the recipe link instructions to prepare the sauce. It can be made in advance and set aside.
  2. Prepare the turkey mixture: Combine ground turkey, parsley, dill, oregano, red onions, garlic, feta, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix gently with hands until evenly combined.
  3. Form the burger patties: Divide mixture into 4 parts and shape into patties with an indentation. Make them slightly larger than buns to account for shrinkage.
  4. Cook the patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet and cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side without pressing down.
  5. Assemble the burgers: Place lettuce on the bottom bun, add the turkey patty, tzatziki, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, more tzatziki, and top bun. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Do not overmix the turkey mixture for juicy burgers.
  • Make an indentation in the patties to prevent shrinkage.
  • Avoid pressing down on the burgers while cooking to retain moisture.
