Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 packs ramen noodles (discard seasoning)
  • 1215 frozen dumplings
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • 3 stalks green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella or cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Boil Ramen Noodles: Boil the ramen noodles in water for 2 minutes, just enough to soften but not fully cook. Drain well.
  3. Mix Sauce: In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chicken or vegetable broth. Stir until well blended.
  4. Layer Ingredients: Place half of the cooked ramen noodles into the prepared baking dish. Evenly arrange the frozen dumplings over the noodles. Then layer the remaining noodles on top of the dumplings.
  5. Pour Sauce and Press: Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the entire layered dish. Use tongs to gently press down the noodles and dumplings to help the sauce distribute evenly throughout.
  6. Bake Covered: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 20 minutes to allow flavors to meld and cook the dumplings through.
  7. Add Cheese and Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil, sprinkle the optional cheese evenly across the top, and bake uncovered for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle chopped green onions over the top for freshness and color. Let cool slightly before serving warm directly from the baking dish.

Notes

  • Be sure to discard the seasoning packets from the ramen noodles as the sauce provides all the needed flavor.
  • If you prefer a spicier dish, consider adding a teaspoon of chili oil or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Using frozen dumplings straight from the freezer is fine as they will cook thoroughly during baking.
  • The cheese topping is optional but adds a creamy, melty finish that contrasts nicely with the savory sauce.
  • You can substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth for a vegetarian-friendly option if using vegetarian dumplings.
