  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced

  • 20ml dark soy sauce
  • 15ml sriracha
  • 10g tomato puree
  • 20g honey
  • A splash of water (approx. 15ml)

  • 250g cooked rice
  • Optional toppings: sliced spring onion, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prep the vegetables: Chop the onion, bell pepper, and mince the garlic cloves carefully, setting them aside for cooking.
  2. Sauté the vegetables: Heat a pan over medium heat, add the chopped onion and bell pepper, and cook for 1-2 minutes until they start to soften. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Cook the beef: Add the lean beef mince to the pan with the vegetables. Stir continuously while cooking to break up the meat. Continue cooking until the liquid evaporates and the beef is fully browned.
  4. Make the sauce: In a small bowl, combine the dark soy sauce, sriracha, tomato puree, honey, and a splash of water. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
  5. Add the sauce: Pour the prepared sauce into the pan with the cooked beef and vegetables. Stir and cook over medium heat until the sauce thickens and coats the ingredients evenly.
  6. Combine with rice: Add the cooked rice to the pan, stirring thoroughly to ensure the rice is evenly coated with the sauce and heated through.
